About the lecture
Medical tourism represents a rapidly growing global segment of healthcare, where patients cross international borders to receive surgical and therapeutic services. Although medical tourism provides patients with access to quality care and innovative procedures, it creates complex legal challenges concerning physician liability, patient rights protection, insurance coverage, cross-border jurisdiction, and medical service quality standards. The lecture addresses the intersection of medical law and international private law, analyzes legal mechanisms for patient protection when receiving care abroad, and examines issues of insurance liability in the context of cross-border treatment. Particular attention is given to the role of informed consent, documentation of medical procedures in an international context, and dispute resolution mechanisms between patients and healthcare institutions in different countries.
Join us to gain valuable insights into the Medical Tourism: Legal Risks and Patient Protection, presented by an experienced academic with a global perspective.
